Small Business Owner?
As a small business owner myself for over 12 years, I know exactly what it takes to take a product or as in our case a service and try and establish a business of your own starting from scratch. All the hard work, investment and good will can consume every breath you take and every penny you have and in the current climate if you have an overdraft of any kind you can simply have your business taken away if the nice bank manager changes his/her mind.
The business model of most people’s dreams is often no more than a glorified job with none of the time and money freedom that you expect from running your own business. People are often drawn to franchises as the ultimate business model because of it’s turn key business opportunity and a full system in place to simply plug into that seemingly guarantees success.
If you believe either a retail business or a franchise is the answer to your dreams and you are ready to make your investment, then you should really do the maths when it comes to calculating realistic profits BEFORE you part with any money.
The major difference in the offline / online business models in my eyes is that an OFFLINE Business usually has a HIGH OVERHEAD / LOW MARKETING BUDGET ratio when it comes to costs, making it increasingly difficult to establish enough sales at the right margin consistently to realise a profit. The same is true of a franchise and of course the initial start up investment can be extremely high, especially if you are thinking about opening a Mc Donalds.
However in an ONLINE business the ratio changes dramatically as you have a LOW OVERHEAD / HIGH MARKETING ratio to work with if you understand that investment and consistent marketing will be required to build your business online, just as it would offline. The chances of earlier profitablility are greatly increased and the start up investment is greatly diminished.
The other major differences are :-
The Old Style Business Model
- Invested $250,000-$2,500,000
- Five Years Until Profit
- 15% Net Profit or less
- 16 Hour Work Days As Owner
- $40k Yr Salary as Owner
- Teenage Employees
- Daily Inventory
- Expensive Rent
- Pricey Insurance
- More Taxes
- Less Freedom
The NEW INTERNET BUSINESS MODEL
- Invested $2,500-$25,000
- Fifteen Days Until Profit
- 75% Profit or More
- 3 Hr Work Days As Owner
- $250k+ Yr Salary as Owner
- No Employees
- No Inventory
- No Rent
- No Insurance
- Less Taxes
- More Freedom
All it takes is a small investment, a learning curve and a whole lot of determination and you too could be sitting on a beach somewhere in the world checking your inbox to see how many sales you just made while you were sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun.
If you are in an existing small business and have reached the point where you hate the sound of the alarm clock going off, every phone call is either a creditor asking for money or a whinging customer wanting something for nothing, then take a second look at My Primary Business today. If you already have a business mindset, you are over halfway there before you start.
Sit down, check out the numbers for yourself, make an informed decison and start to understand that real time and money freedom is found when you have the opportunity to market a powerful, high converting system and has very little to do in most cases with products and services.
Just think about it .. Mc Donalds is a powerful system for making profits .. the real power lies in marketing a system that converts leads to paying customers.
In small business .. I couldn’t even find time to grab a coffee! Check out this video for how I spend my days now :-
