As this is Thanksgiving Day in the USA I felt it appropriate to reflect and be thankful for the opportunity to share some wisdom from a great mentor of mine.
There really is nothing like a 10 hour flight to focus your attention on a good book to read on your journey, my choice was Andy Andrews, The Travellers Gift.
In my primary business our Vice President of Leadership, John Jackson attributes this book to having such an impact on his life that he recommends it to everyone who is looking for a break through moment, an inspiring action to take or a shift in mindset that will ultimately take them from where they are in life or in their business to where they want to be.
Before making the necessary mindset shift, John was working 70-80 hour weeks at Home Depot, with work dominating that much of your time each and every week your family life suffers and that is exactly what happened to John. He reached the point where the acceptable became the unacceptable when he lifted his young son up one evening and realised that his own son did not even know who he was.
What drove him to change his life around and commit to sharing Cheerios with his family each and every morning, do everything possible to make sure he could quit his job and spend more time with his family he attributes to the principles shared in this book by Andy Andrews.
The 7 Decisions Andy Andrews shares are more far reaching than anything else I have read about perhaps developing habits of successful people or The Law of Attraction the difference is these are principles that when applied will transform your life, principles are not theory or open to interpretation.
The story throughout the book will grip you from start to finish, and the way in which the story unfolds will always build a picture in your mind of how you can incorporate these principles into your every day life and business.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book this book if you are looking for solid principles on which to base your life and your business ethics.
